#107 Rock City Falls/Saratoga Springs, NY 6-7-09

On Sunday we headed north and west to a campground that was in our Passport America Book. Rock City Falls is a very small mobile home and RV park about 7 miles from Saratoga Springs. We were the only RV parked in the park. The space was very wide and deep and all grass. It was very quiet and the people that live in the park were very nice. The lady in the mobile home we parked next to, came out and told us we were welcome to use their picnic table while we were parked there.

We spent two days and three nights at the park and we went into Saratoga both days. The first day we did a little grocery shopping and had lunch and checked out the town. It is a very quaint town, geared to the horse races

I thought the name of this store was great. We parked right in front and checked out the merchandise. Lots of hats and souvenirs.

The main street has very wide sidewalks lined with benches for sitting. There had to be 50-60 little restaurants lining the streets.

This town loved hanging baskets of flowers. I think I counted 27 hanging baskets and 12 window boxes full of flowers.

We left Rock City and headed to Niskayuna, NY to stay with our friends Don and Alice. It is about 23 miles—big day.
