#13-7 Aubrey’s 7th Birthday and work on home

We attended Aubrey’s 7th birthday party on the 7th of April.  She wanted it to be at Chuck E Cheese.  She had a great time.

Then it was back to work on our home.  I painted the master bedroom and bought a new bedspread and pillows.  Sure looks nice.  Meanwhile, Frank is trying to fix the leak in the pond.

It’s not all work, all the time.  I found time to pick some of the roses that are blooming in the yard, and we took a ride on a cloudy day.  Probably out to get lunch or heading to a Dr. appointment.

Then it’s back to work.  Frank is still trying to fix the leak in the pond.  I’m back to painting, this time the facia board on the house.

Now it’s the last weekend before we start loading the RV for our trip north.  It is Mother’s Day weekend.  Diane and Mark came over from Carlsbad and helped us with our garage sale.  We had a pretty successful sale, getting rid of a lot of things that Frank and I had cleaned out of the house and garage and storage building.
After the sale, we were sitting in the house and it was getting warmer and warmer.  Supposed to be 101 degrees.  We couldn’t get the A/C to work.  Brought in all the fans we had and called the repair guys.  We had a burned out control board!  Couldn’t get a new one until Monday.  Diane and Mark left early Sunday morning after a rather warm night!  We went to the movies, where it was cool and then to son, Ray’s to swim in the pool with the kids on Mother’s Day

The A/C men came on Monday and worked on the roof where the A/C is located.  Only 105 that day, but with a slight breeze.  The control board they got was defective!  They had to go to warehouse and get new one.  A/C was on by 7 pm that evening.

We took some time out to rest, after working so hard, to enjoy the flowers and even our little hummingbird that visited the patio while we were home.

We picked up the RV out of storage and parked in front of the house and started loading it on Monday.  At least we could turn on the generator and run the A/C’s while we unloaded boxes.  But, it was hot in the house while we were packing stuff in the boxes to take back out to the RV.  Lots of trips up those steps and of course, we can’t open the slides while parked at the curb so quite tight quarters inside the RV.
We finished loading the RV by the time our 3 day permit was over, but didn’t get the house cleaned up, so spent the next day cleaning house and covering the pond, which we weren’t able to completely fix the leak, and whose pump decided to quit.  Oh Well, it will be there next fall and we will be a little fresher and hopefully will finally get the leak fixed!
Now we are back in the RV, and the electricity keeps going off and on. The inverter says over heat, so we call the mobile RV repair and he checks the batteries.  They are shot!  We are parked near Costco, so Frank gets four new batteries and the mobile guy puts them in. This is late afternoon on Thursday.
On Friday and we head over to Lancaster to say good-by to the kids, grandkids and great grandkids.  Now the hot water heater doesn’t work on electric.  So Frank fixes it to just work on propane.  So we can take showers!   I guess our RV is mad at us for leaving it in storage for six weeks.

Eldon and his Daddy, Allie Ivison, just hanging out being guys!

Grannie Laurie and her two grand children Adele and Eldon.  We all had a great time visiting and saying good bye (just for a few months), as we are on our way north to Oregon and Washington.
