#13-6 Garden Café with ladies, back to Palm Desert for Dixie’s birthday and Easter

Sandy, Wilma, Marion, Judy, Dixie and Betty
Our next to the last day we spent in Yuma, I got to go out for lunch with 5 wonderful ladies at the Garden Café in Old Town Yuma.  The weather was beautiful, the company great and the food was good.  From left to right, Sandy, Wilma, Marian, Judy Dixie, and Betty.
We drove home to Palm Desert on the 24th of March.  Spent one night at the Indio Elks, then drove up to Lancaster to see all the kids and grand kids and great grandkids.  It was a whirl wind trip for three days.  I had dinner cooked for me three nights in a row.  We arrived back in Palm Desert on my birthdate of 3-27 and went out for Mexican dinner with Ray, Nicole, Aubrey and AJ.  It was a fun night.

Then it was time to park the Motor Home in front of our house and start unloading it and get to work on painting, repairing and trimming.
It took Frank and I three days to unload and clean the RV.  Then we put the RV into storage for the six weeks we are staying in our home.
We found out that the city of Palm desert was having a free clean up day in a couple of weeks, so we got busy trimming and removing overgrown bushes.

This was our green waste pick up for clean up day.  It was over 100 degrees some of the days when we were trimming!
We also had a lot of repairs to do also.  Frank had to repair broken pipes in the sprinkler system.  One was broken under the pond.  Ugh!

We took a break on Easter and went to Church with Ray and family.  All dressed up.

It’s a party on Prickly Pear street.  We have permission to block off the entire street.  Both streets on either side of us are invited, It’s a pot luck, and happy hour with Karaoke and dancing in the street!  Food, food and more food!

After dinner the karaoke machine was set up and we had singers and dancers—and a few of the men hung back and were drinkers!

 Thank you Carey and Doug.

On March 9, Frank and I went to Lettuce Days at the Quarter Master Depot in Old Town Yuma.  We made a couple of new friends!  Had a delicious salad of vegetables grown right in Yuma, listened to some nice music and watched a demonstration of fruit and vegetable art.
