#46 Birthdays 1-23 thru 1-26-2009

1-23-09 It's Don's big birthday. Number 80. We all went to dinner at Santa Fe Steak Restaurant and the women paid for dinner. Delicious steak and a very nice place.1-25-08 -- Surprise! Its a birthday party for Don Fieden(1-23) Wayne Stukenholtz (1-25) and Frank (1-26)
There was a band playing all kinds of music for the birthday men and guests. We all sang Happy Birthday and then some sing-a-long music, too.
The guests all enjoyed the music, before the cake was served. (All of them stayed awake, even though it was past 8:00 p.m.) Most of the people here are park residents and they come from the northern states. A lot of farmers who are used to getting up at the crack of dawn and going to bed when it gets dark. So this was a late nite for them.

Below Frank is standing in front of his very own pineapple upside down cake that Joyce Stukenholtz baked for him. She baked 9 cakes for this party. She explained that she loves to doing these kinds of things. And she is very good! Each of the birthday men had a cake to take home.
Alice in the red shirt, Dixie in the middle and Joyce Stukenholtz cutting the cake. We set it out for everyone and served coffee with the cake. It was a very nice party.1-28-09. Here we are again at Santa Fe Restaurant for Don's second birthday dinner paid for by his daughters, and the manager of the restaurant because of the mix up at the first dinner. This time his birthday was acknowledged by the wait staff, and the owner. Below is a picture of our food and drinks. The rose on the table is real, the presentation is beautiful and the steak and sea scallops were delicious. Don's New York Strip steak was just to his liking.

Our waiter this night was Napoleon. He was a great waiter. He prepared Bananas Foster for our desert. He is sprinkling cinnamon on the burning brandy. Then it is all served over vanilla ice cream. Yummy.

Below Don has his Banana Foster served with a candle. A perfect birthday dinner, from very nice people at the restaurant making it a memorable experience. Don promised to bring his daughter at the end of March, when she comes to visit.

The four of us leaving the restaurant. We are standing in front of the fireplace under the torquoise bull. Thanks Don, Alice, Don's daughters, Sony and Napoleon for a wonderful dinner.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY DON #80 AND HAPPY BIRTHDAY FRANK #81!!
