#13-2 Sundance RV Park, Yuma

Super bowl Sunday started early with Mexican Coffee at John and Barb’s overlooking the wash with the foothills in the back ground.  It ended with a BBQ and watching the game on an out door TV.  The weather was great and the food delicious and the company fun.
During our stay in Yuma we join the Cactus Wren’s HR RV club and do outings with them.  This February we went to a private museum in Gadson.  The man talking with Frank has been here all his life and is a wealth of information and his home and yard are a collection of things from the local area.  His wife was the head cook of the school district and made all of us lunch.  Most of the stuff is from the 40’s and 50’s, but so unique.  He even has peacocks!

Valentine’s dinner at Julianna’s was an experience.  We had dinner reservations for 10 of us at 7 pm.  Didn’t get to eat until 9 pm.  Then we couldn’t order off the menu, as it was a special menu for Valentine’s day. The company was good!  Ian with Frank, Dixie and Maude, Craig hugging both Barb’s and Sandy between both John’s.

Dale and Betty came with Frank and I and we drove out to the Dobson Museum, in Tacna, AZ.  This couple have been collecting for over 35 years.  Tools, locks, keys, bottles, furniture, toys, crocks, and even buildings.  The entire house is a museum and then you go outside and there is a “town” set up in different buildings.  A school room, teacher’s house, barber shop, Dr.’s office, a general store still stocked with canned goods and sewing notions!  They have a functioning blacksmith shop run by an old diesel generator and acres of old tractors.  It was all quite interesting and the lady that owns it all took us on a personal tour.  Well worth the drive!
