#12-13 Yakima, Packwood and yard sales, 8-28 thru 9-17-2012

We arrived in Yakima on a Tuesday and on Thursday we drove up into the mountains to a little town of Packwood.  Our friends Earl and Barb have a couple of lots in the woods that they invite friends with RV’s to spend the weekend with them on Memorial Day and Labor Day.  These are the weekends that Packwood turns into one big flea market.  They asked us to join them this year so we headed into the woods.  That’s our back end you see in the first picture.  We were so tight between the trees that we couldn’t open the bay doors to hook up to water!  Oh well, we had a full tank of fresh water and made out just fine.

There were thirteen of us at one time.  Some came a day later and some left a day early.  We stayed from Thursday until Tuesday.  As you can see it isn’t an RV park, we just park between the trees.

Earl has a big fire pit that is lined with tracks off a Cat.  We can build a big fire, and there was lots of wood, just had to split it!  Frank is standing next to a nice BBQ that Earl stores in the shed and uses when there are campers.  Lon is sitting around the campfire, Stan Houle, Earle Brost and Frank are toasting each other with a beer!

Mary and Lon brought their little Chihuahua, Lady, who is almost exactly the same size as Gidget.  They sniffed each other and decided to be aloof, each going their own way.  Lady liked Gidget’s bed and would crawl in it whenever Gidget wasn’t around.  They were fun to watch.  Both are big babies and liked to be held!

This picture of Barb is taken in downtown Packwood on the last day of the flea market.  There are RV’s lining the street leaving to go back home.  The vendors are packing up.  We had avoided the rush of the weekend spending our time driving to individual yard sales.  Four of us women did the sales, thanks Judy for driving!  Each of us came home with some kind of treasure.  Some more than others.  Of course, I looked for baby girl clothes and found one treasure trove with lots of stuff for our great granddaughter.  Frank says we are dressing her through college!  (Only through 3T) .
This was a really fun weekend with some great people!
Thanks for inviting us.  We had a wonderful time!
