We took a Grayline Tour for two days. The first day was an evening tour into Canada to see the horseshoe side of the falls and some of the other Canadian spots. Canada has been the big tourist attraction side and we saw lots of evidence of that. One street we drove down reminded me of the strip in Las Vegas. Vendors and tourist souvenir shops.
On our way into the tunnel behind the falls we saw the most beautiful rainbows. On the first picture you can see the mist from the falls. On the second picture you can see it is getting toward dusk.
Our first stop was to go under the falls and look out through the portals.
The first picture is looking directly into the water falling. All you can see is the mist and some of the drops from the top of the portal. We could also hear the power of the water.
The view from the top of Horseshoe Falls.
Our next stop was the whirlpool.
The gondola ride from Canada to Canada over the whirlpool. Not for me!
The clock works, it is all made from plants and flowers, but it is getting too dark to really get a good look at it. At least there were some lights there.
Our last stop was the sky tower. We rode up (with 18 other people) in that little yellow elevator. There were lots and lots of other people on the observation deck, which is a 360 degree view.
I wish that you could see how beautiful it is when the colors change on the falls. The mist comes up and obscures some of the falls and the lights. We were so far above it was very hard to get a good picture. Hopefully you can get an idea of the lights and the colors.
After our 53 second ride back down to the ground we headed back to the American side and hope for the evening. It was after 11 pm when we finally got back to the RV. We were parked at the Niagara Falls Elks right on the Outlet Mall parking lot. Very close to everything. The Grayline tour bus picked us up at their visitor center about 1 mile from the Elks. We were on a bus of about 28 people. So not too big of a group.
