We spent almost 2 weeks at the Arrowhead Marine and RV Park. Right on the Mohawk River.
We did our Dr. appointments and grocery shopping and all the housekeeping stuff that has to be done, once in a while!
Once we got all our “chores” out of the way we were back to touring the area.
We took off on Saturday and headed to Stockbridge, MA to visit the Norman Rockwell Museum.
We couldn’t take any pictures inside the Museum or inside the studio, so all I have is memories of the beautiful original paintings and just how his studio looked after he died.
The studio was moved to this site from the original site. It was Norman Rockwell’s wish that it be preserved and cared for by the Museum Society. All the furniture and equipment inside is original. The studio was originally the carriage house on the property where he lived his final years. He said it was the best studio he had ever had, after he had the improvements made to the original building. Lots of good light for painting and a snug sitting area to rest and take a little nap.
The view from the Studio! Beautiful!
Above is the Linwood House. The plaque below tells how Norman Rockwell knew the house and the man who owned it. As with most of our days in NY and the surrounding area, we had a nice day to visit the museum and as we left it started to rain! Good thing we were only 50 miles away from home. We made it before it really started to pour! It ended up being a very enjoyable day.
