We met Laurie and kids at their hotel and decided to go to the Top of the Rock. This is the top floors of the Rockefeller Center. Below is one of the more beautiful sculptures around the center. It is raining again, and all the umbrellas are up in the courtyard.
This is the wall of sculpture that is names Rhythms of Infinity. I thought it was just beautiful.
Below is Frank, on the top of the Rock. The Empire State Building.
A beautiful view of Central Park from the Top of the Rock.
The Empire State Building with Manhattan surrounding it.Below is Saint Patrick's Cathedral. It is dwarfed by all the other tall buildings.
Times Square is off in the distance. You can see the ball that drops on Jan 1.
It wasn’t raining when we were at the top, but you could see it coming in over the tops of the buildings.
Laurie and the kids had stood in line and got half price tickets to the show “Rock of Ages.” This was all music of the 80’s with a story about a rock singer and a “wanna” be actress. Frank and I stayed through the first half, and then headed home. The music was too loud for us old people. The kids really enjoyed it, but by the time it was over the rain was really coming down. They had to catch a ride back to their hotel.
We caught the subway, and then the train and beat the rain back to the RV in Jersey City, NJ. That was a good thing, because the train station is about 7 blocks from the Coach and we would have been soaked.

I can remember as a kid going to the top of the Empire State building. I think I was 7 or 8 so we're talking about the mid-50's. Fabulous view of the City. Thank you for sharing the pictures and narrative of your adventures. This is got to be one of the greatest "Bucket list" trips of all time! Rick
