On our walk to the American History Museum we walked through the Sculpture Garden. We had lunch in the cafe and enjoyed the fountain and all the flowers.
Just outside the Museum of Natural Science was a butterfly garden. Only no butterflies. There was a sign telling us that if the sun wasn’t shining bright, the butterflies did not come out. Well, it was a cloudy day, so no butterflies. We just enjoyed the flowers!
Just to let you know, every where we went there are school kids. This is a bunch of them waiting in the hallway. How wonderful that the schools can have field trips to our Capitol and see all the wonderful places in Washington, DC.We were greeted by Dumbo, probably the one I rode on when I was a child growing up. Disneyland opened in the 1950’s and I have many good memories of our many trips to Disneyland.
Dorothy’s ruby slippers.
Hi, Kermit. You are an original!
Apollo Ono’s silver skates. Where are his dancing shoes?
Phyllis Diller’s hair, gloves and shoes. Who ever thought she would become a historical character?
We also saw Julia Childs kitchen, completely built right inside the museum. My pictures of the kitchen didn’t turn out. I got so interested in watching the old TV shows, I forgot to check and see if my photo’s turned out. Sorry!
