This Is the picnic with the Holiday Rambler Cactus Wren’s Club. It was a pot luck as well as a general meeting.
The weather was great and you can see we all sat out in the sun!We took a day off and rested before we headed off to the Lettuce Days Festival. During the winter months Yuma grows 90% of the lettuce consumed in this country. So they have a weekend of demonstrations and exhibits. It was held at the Battery Park—where we went to the Civil War reenactment. Boy, was it crowded and not very level. It got a little warm, but we really had a nice time.
Below is a picture of a food sculpture. We watched the man doing the work. He was quite amazing.
We were also treated to some delicious hand dipped chocolate covered strawberries.
At the farmer’s market booth we stocked up on really fresh vegetables. Lots of lettuce, but also green and yellow peppers, asparagus and other yummy things. When it got too hot, we headed back to Sundance RV Camp for a little afternoon nap!
