This is the gate we drove through when we drive around the tulip and rose garden and below the conservatory.On the road to the Winery. The grounds are all groomed and the trees are now in bloom.
This is the bass lake. If you look really close you will see some people in lawn chairs enjoying the beautiful scene and weather.
All the bridges have been built with stone and the work is beautiful.
I loved this path over the creek. Everything is so carefully groomed and maintained.
We are having a snack at the Winery in the outside garden area. We are under a trellis that will bloom with Wisteria soon. You can see the flowering bushes through the arches.
When we were talking to the waitress, she told us that the Biltmore employees around 1,300 people. During the months of Jan and Feb, about 700 of them get laid off. Christmas time is one of their busiest times, because they have tours of the house in the evening and everything is decorated with trees and garlands and lights. I'm sure it is spectacular.
We said good-by the the estate and headed back to the RV. After all that waling and up and down stairs we were ready for a break. The weather had been just beautiful and we really enjoyed our visit.
